9 Months to Austin

Dear folks, Sorry for my disappearance for a few weeks but I did a nutty thing, took a chance, got a "YES" we want to see your script from a pitch and now have been feverishly writing. Taking days of vacation and personal days off from the day job to get this requested script into that producer's hands. Promised it to him 3-4-10 and hope to better that and get him the finished product by this Monday 2-22-10. Under-commit and over-fulfill.
Took today off to get through the third act. Rest of the weekend to polish, polish, polish and well. This is my lunch break.
So, it is a good news story. In the last thirty five days I have read Save the Cat, Save the Cat Goes to the Movies, and Save the Cat Strikes Back as a means to make this script my best ever. Thank you, Blake Snyder I wish you were still around but thanks for all the help.
The producer I found on VPF (Virtual Pitch Fest) who read one of my other Christmas stories but I don't think he really wanted an animated short. When he asked what else I had, I offered the story line I call A Sprinderlie Christmas (It's an anise flavored German cookie takes two days to make). I make them every year. A family tradition. It's the one gift my 82 year old mom actually thanks me for.
And I offered to option a script on a book with no money in my pocket, but I could find some. This has me reading two more books at once, BANKROLLING and the book that has my interest. In talking to the book's author, he has an option for a year already. If that deal doesn't happen maybe I'll know what to do to get the money together by then. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
Sent a couple poems off to a comp. Still keeping day job bosses happy. Hubby says he's staying for the long haul. So all is good.
Well, that's all for now.
Third Act is calling.
More in a few,
Jenny Deason Copeland (The crazy red head)
