9 Months to Austin

Hello,

Did it. Yesterday finished the new Christmas story, A Springerlie Christmas. In less that four weeks did the Blake Snyder beat sheet, forty scenes on the cards, bought the Save the Cat software for the computer and the i-Phone. Last weekend finished the forty scenes and started writing the script. I have a day job so every night after work I worked until 730 or 8PM on the pages of the script. Yesterday, took a vacation day from work and finished it. Yahoo.

The only way I could do that was having read all three Save the Cat books and using the Save the Cat software. Adding the Save the Cat software to my i-Phone is the coolest. I can beat out and forty card any script anywhere I am as long as my i-Phone is with me and that's -ok, I don't sleep with it. BTW, the Save the Cat folks gave me some kind of discount for buying both the computer and i-Phone version of the software. Very cool people. Refunded money instantly without my asking.

So today and tomorrow the hubby and I do the out loud read. And we beat it to death. get it? BEAT it to death. Little inside screenwriter humor there. Ok, very little.  On with the story. Then Sunday night or Monday we send the script off to the requesting producer. The guy who said "Yes" on a VPF (Virtual Pitch Fest) pitch. The "You can pitch in your pajamas" one. Because basically that's what I'm doing. A video of me might scare small children. No just kidding.

Then I can get back to my script that I was writing for the Austin screenplay comp. That was what this blog was supposed to be about.  A past life regression love story crosses WWI and WWII to find out what it was that brings these two soul together again, is what just might rip it apart again. Loved doing the research. Theme: To keep your love alive, can you forgive the unforgiveable?

I best get to that script polishing on the cookie script. Now where did I put that can of Pledge?

Then next week back to that Austin script as a way to distract me from the waiting to see if it's a PASS on the cookie script. Oh my... May the dream never die. But it seems since I read the Blake Snyder books, that I finally know where all the movies parts need tp go. Look out Hollywood here I come.

Oh, and going to the Oscars party in Grand Rapids, Michigan on 3-7-2010. If you are there please look me up. I'm the crazy red head with that distinguished looking white haired man.

Keep those dreams alive. A sign on the desk that my hubby made for me, "Don't be afraid of the space between your dreams and reality. If you can dream it, you can make it so."

Best to all,

Jenny Deason Copeland
(the crazy red head)
