9 Months to Austin
|
|
Dear Feature Fans,
I was out of town on business and after over 11 hours trying to fly from Chicago to Detroit, made it at 2AM this motning. Stagecoach would have been faster (not really I know).
Now that Sprinderlie Christmas is entrenched on InkTip and already in one producer's hands, in hopes that the bait will snag some attention, I must refocus on the Austin Film Festival Screenplay comp and get that old script reworked.
The plan of attack goes like this: 1- Since the old script, with the current name, has been on InkTip awhile, a new name will be used for this refreshed project. Give it neew life. Thought of this new name yesterday while stuck in transit. It is growing on me. I tried it out on the hubby and it will work. 2- I bought SOPHIE'S CHOICE and will tear that script apart scene by scene to see how they told that story. You know, Hollywood says, "Give me the same thing only different". 3- Take the current script and tear it down into 3-5 cards to get a better handle on any shuffling I need to do. 4- Make new cards to flush out the full Save the Cat methodology. 5- Write the script. Do This by 4-1-10. 6- Send this to WBC for a free notes session. Twice a year- every 6 months I can ask for feedback on a script since I went through their course work. 7- Rewrite from 4-1-10 until post date 5-15-10. 8- Work on the next script that needs redoing- Probably New Shoes for Elizabeth- Got some script notes from Script Coach that are really on the money and hope to use those to fix this one.
That's all for now.
Best always, Jenny (the crazy red head)
