"God's Prisoner"   by James Truett                           $14.67

"James had his plans, nothing could go wrong, but it did. His plans to start a church club, when he got out of prison, were set back when he stepped in to help the would be victim of an attempted drive-by shooting, and now he is the target; the only witness that must be silenced.

But God has control of all things and this was a lesson that was scary to learn, but strongly satisfying in the end results.

The author/main character, portrays Christianity like you have never seen it before, and yet, you will remember it for the rest of your life! It is smart, insightful wisdom at its best...but let the buyer beware: If you cannot face the revelations given in this book about your Faith, Belief and Love for God Almighty and his only begotten Son Jesus, then you are better off going on your blissful way; purposely ignorant of the Truth of the Gospel this book shares with all who wish they knew a faith they could stand strong in."

 An Excerpt:

In order for us to be in agreement we need to have the same understanding of faith. Or at least in the beginning, have a belief in my leadership ability to make disciples.

Sandy, I need your mailing address and phone number in case of the need to begin the letter ministry. If you would rather rent a post box, I can accept that. You’re the treasurer. Charles let Sandy have your phone number. And make time to spend time together studying any letters I send, if I send them. Believe me when I say, a letter ministry is a good way to learn The Way.

When there are ten members, not counting myself, then I will consider us a fully operational church. With every member making their monthly contributions I will be able to withdraw myself and put my full time into the many aspects of church growth. When enough is on hand to open a business account, a business license will be obtained. At the end of five years, if everything goes as planned, we will have a church club with a pretty good foundation. By that time I hope to be able to offer you some kind of salary, that is if you want to be involved to that level of commitment, and I hope you are. I need your help to do this; and it would be a good idea to be ready both spiritually and physically for the times just ahead, when things begin to go bad in the world.

I personally believe we are close to the tribulation period that the bible prophesies about as being so terrible that the whole world would perish if God did not cut the days short. As it is, two-thirds of the world population will die. That’s equivalent to everyone in America dying twelve times over.  In a time when a loaf of bread will cost a days wages and the true Christian will be hunted down to be killed. Where evil will be called good and good will be called evil. Where everyone will be forced to receive the mark of the beast and Christians will be persecuted for not obeying the “Blue Laws” that will once again be enforced.”

“What are the Blue Laws?” Charles asked.

“Those are laws that were passed a long time ago to say that you may work every day but Sunday, which is to be the day of worship ordained by the Pope. It was a day made by the Pope to replace the Saturday Sabbath. Yet the 10 commandments say honor the seventh day which is Saturday. And while most Christians consider the Sabbath days rest to be found in Jesus, some churches teach to honor the Saturday Sabbath. Though, most Christians worship on a Sunday because of Catholic tradition.”

“Which day do you believe is the day of worship?” Sandy asked.

“I believe every day is a day of worship and every day is a day of resting in Jesus.” I said. “But if I were to pick a day to not work, then I’d pick Saturday. I wouldn’t do it for my sake, but for those Christians whose faith is weak and need to honor the Sabbath Saturday not Sunday. But the time to take a stand on this is still yet to come; for now I’d just recommend walking in “The Way.” The way of repentance unto love and truth in obedience… We can discuss this more next week, if 1:00pm is okay again?”

“Yeah, that’s all right with me.” Charles said.

“That’s fine with me too.” Sandy added.

“Then until next week, and bring some paper and a pen, and your bibles and a friend that might be interested. Think upon our talk today. It’s been my pleasure to meet both of you.” I shook their hands warmly and with enthusiasm. It was close to 3:30pm and I’m sure they were tired of hearing me for the day.

Charles shook my hand and said, “J.J., I think I may have found what I’m looking for in a church; I’ve never had things explained to me so that I could understand them. Thanks.” He then shook hands with Sandy and made his good-byes to her. “I was glad to meet you too Sandy and hope to see you next week.”

“You will. It was nice meeting you too.” She said. And he walked away saying, “See ya!”

Sandy shook my hand and said, “Thank you for helping me to see that I’m still saved and why it is I don’t feel the feelings I first felt any more. I like your Church-Club dream; it’s not like most churches. I can see you really want to help people to know God and Jesus, and want to help them find some security for their future too! I’ll start working on that web page and by next week I’ll have a couple printouts of how it might look, and we can make any changes you think best. Oh, and here’s my address you can write me at if it comes to that though it does sounds strange.”

“Sandy,” I said, “Let me tell you a secret that you must tell no one, except Charles if he asks, and only if he promises to tell no one else.”

     “I promise.” She said.

This is an unofficial review (comment) by the wife of the Editor of "Uncut" magazine:...

2. I have started reading JJ's book and I think it is bloody brilliant!!!!  I have read the first two chapters. I love the first person narrative...and it is a real page turner. (I wish the book had page numbers on it - it is not the greatest layout).  I LOVE the illustrations. I think a screenplay should be written so it could be made into a movie.  I am happy to do that for no charge or any piece of the profits (prophets?!!), but I won't be able to turn my hand to it until the spring.  If JJ has the time to turn it into a screenplay, then he should do it.  Otherwise, I am happy to do, or work with JJ on it.  I kind of knew the book would be good, because JJ writes wonderful emails:  a very strong voice comes through the book and the emails, and that is the most important part of writing.  Finding that voice.  I think he is very talented, and I will keep you up to date on where I am in the book.  You can see that a glowing, positive review from me will be going up on Amazon.  Congratulations, JJ!!!!!!!!!  Start writing another book, and we can see if we can find a better self-publishing company that will give it a good layout.  A good layout really attracts buyers...and again I love the illustrations.  First Class. Well done.

Wow! I'm really glad she likes it. Being a writer and editor herself is a good sign that the book is a great book to read. I hope you like it....
