Anna, a 16-year old girl is a thread away from becoming absorbed in a small, hapless community in southern California. For the past several years she has been employed in a local grocery mart, slowly accumulating her savings with the dream of one day escaping her monotonous existence. A role model for her younger sister Ellie, Anna challenges herself daily with a passion for dance, a dream which once also existed for her mother Eleanor, now trapped in a circle of abuse and despair. After years of imagining a perfect world on the outside of her current reality, an opportunity arises for Anna to escape her dysfunctional world and truly realize her abilities. She discovers an open audition call in a distant city, to the school of her dreams.

A fraction away from her moment of truth, her abusice father Doyle, grows into a powerful obstacle, both for Anna and her mother. Compounded with a troubled home environment, Anna encounters a mysterious new customer and neighbor on her delivery route. Vigard Schutzer develops a predatory and perverse obsession with his young neighbor girl.
