Ordinary Things
I check out other indy projects on this and other sites to see what's getting funded, and I am so depressed and frustrated! Most, not all, but far too many of the projects are so incredibly ORDINARY! A web series about actors, a film about twenty-somethings, blah, blah... blah. Why would I want to invest in something I can see in my everyday life? I know actors, I know twenty-somethings, I know lawyers, doctors, FBI agents, police; why would I want that on my TV or a movie screen?
Come on, people, put your money where MY mouth is and help me tell INTERESTING stories! You want stories about drug cartels, corrupt politicians, teen angst, watch the news! You want fun, exciting, DIFFERENT stuff, give me, and film makers like me, your support! Otherwise, entertainment will continue to get worse and worse and all we'll have is stories about people I wouldn't want to sit next to at Starbucks, much less pay to watch on TV.
