STEVE McQUEEN: Home Video
|
|
This is a short clip from a longer home movie shot of the final seconds of the big chase in the film "Bullitt." It will also show a quick shot of Steve McQueen greeting the Mayor's daughter who was visiting the set that Saturday. This was filmed in Brisbane, California...below the San Bruno Mountains...on a pass called Guadalupe Road. The buildings destroyed were (obviously) a set built by the production company. The film is old (8mm), and the quality poor, but viewable. This will be part of a DVD I am putting together which will chronicle my association with the motion picture industry, and shown at the book signings of my novel "Anything Short of Murder." It explains why I chose Hollywood...and specifically the film business...as the setting for my mystery, "Anything Short of Murder! Please note the blooper: The fx man sets off the explosion BEFORE the car hits the gas pumps! Go to link below:
