Uploading a Video on myProducer

Adding your own videos to myProducer is one of the best ways to begin to get the most from the site and the community.  Below we will take you through a short tutorial on how to upload your videos.

One thing not everyone knows is that during the upload process Serious and Professional filmmakers can choose to make their videos private for certain audiences.  While we encourage everyone to share their hard work and videos with the entire community, there may be times that keeping a video private for only certain people within your crew to see is important to the filmmaker.  We recommend that filmmakers and members share trailers, shorts, behind the scenes clips, and other promotional videos with everyone to drive interest in the project.

Filmmakers can also choose to upload their entire feature film and keep it safe from unwanted viewing if they are still in a distribution seeking phase of their journey, or choose to keep it safe and submit it to our online film festivals and other traditional distribution platforms soon to come on myProducer.

So, log in and share your videos with the community.  It is easy, free and fun to build an audience and relationship with the film lovers on myProducer.

Step 1

Once logged in, from the homepage or anywhere else on the site, click the Upload Video buttom on the top right of the nav bar.

Step 2

Fill out the information related to your video including:

Title: Choose your Video Title

Item Type: Choose VIDEO

Vanity URL: Choose the url you want to be able to post elsewhere to immediately find your video.  You can check to ensure someone else is not already using the url you want.

Genre: Choose from drop down list

Language: Choose language video is in

Description: Write a description of the video for members to see

Tags: Use key words that describe your video - This info will be used in search so that members will find your video when searching the site from the main search tool.

Privacy Option: Serious and Professional filmmakers can choose who is allowed to see the video

Item: This is your video file.  Choose from where you will be uploading that file.

Thumbnail Image: Choose the image to display on the video Page when video is playing.

Check Box: Confirm Terms of Service agreement

Submit:  Click Submit

That is it!  You are finished.

It may take 5-20 minutes (depending on the size of your video file) for the video to show up on the site once it has been uploaded.  This is because in the background we are encoding the format of the video to display on myProducer.  In the near future, Serious and Professional filmmakers will have the option of encoding their video in multiple formats for use in sending to iPhone, YouTube, Blackberry, and other web and mobile devices.  The encoded files will be made available in the filmmakers profile to be distributed by them as they determine.
